How to choose a niche for your blog.








You finally made the decision to start a blog after taking some time to think about it.  Now you need some help figuring out what niche to choose for your blog.

What do you write about? 

You can write posts that solve problems.
Write about your passion.
You can even write about the blogging process!

                                 Niche types.


There are many different blog niches.  You can choose from the following however, this list is endless.

                                           Lifestyle blog.


This type of blog may host day to day activities of that particular blogger e.g. a trip to the shopping centre, vacation photos, a new house purchase etc. An example of a lifestyle blog: Apartment Therapy.


                                            Beauty blog.


These usually include latest beauty purchases, comparison of similar types of beauty products and makeup tutorials.
Example of popular beauty blog:  Nikkie Tutorials.

                                            Travel blog.


Travel blogs relate best vacation spots, budget vacation spots, reviews of accommodation etc.

Example of a popular travel blog:  Oneika the Traveller.

                                           Technology blog.


Tech blogs give information on the newest electronics, how to use digital products and product reviews among other things.

Example of popular technology blog:  TechCrunch.

                                             Business blog.


Business blogs talk about company news, how to start a business etc.

One popular business blog: Business Insider.

                                            Mommy blog.


These blogs discuss parenting, reviews on kiddie products and more.

A popular mommy blog:  The Redhead Mom.


Take some time and think about what niche you would like to write.

So I decided to venture a little further away from home to start shopping at the  DOLLAR TREE .  The truth is, there is another popular dollar store franchise which is less than ten minutes walk from my home. However, they are always dirty, the price tags on their items are sometimes different from when you get to the cashier and they don't get products regularly.  I was done. Last but not least,  DOLLAR TREE items start usually at a dollar and twenty five cents. Cheaper than that other dollar store.
